Ultrasound Service Disclaimer – WWWW
Ultrasound services provided by WWWW are delivered by experienced clinicians using high-quality medical imaging equipment and are designed to support the diagnosis and management of stable, non-urgent gynaecological and early pregnancy concerns. These services are offered within the scope of private,
outpatient care and are not suitable for emergency presentations or acute symptoms.
Medical Scope of Service
- WWWW is a private, appointment-based clinic for non-urgent care. We are not an emergency service and do not provide walk-in, out-of-hours, or acute assessment.
- You must not attend for a scan if you are experiencing heavy bleeding, severe pain, suspected ectopic pregnancy, signs of infection, collapse, or other symptoms requiring urgent medical attention. In such cases, you should seek immediate help via your GP, NHS 111, or A&E.
- WWWW reserves the right to decline or defer scanning if, on assessment, a patient is found to be clinically unstable or requires urgent care.
Time-Specific Findings
- Ultrasound is a highly effective tool for visualising pelvic organs, but it is inherently time-limited. Your scan findings are valid only at the time of the appointment and may not reflect changes that occur afterwards.
- No imaging modality can guarantee detection of all pathology. Some conditions may not be visible at the time of scan, especially if asymptomatic or in early stages.
- WWWW and its clinicians accept no responsibility or liability for conditions that emerge, progress, or become apparent after the date of your scan unless clearly detected and documented at the time of your appointment.
Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
- If you attend WWWW for a scan-only appointment, we do not provide clinical follow-up or ongoing management unless you book a separate consultation within our service.
- It is your responsibility to take your report to your GP, consultant, or referring clinician and to act upon any findings or recommendations we provide.
- WWWW is not responsible for chasing follow-up or interpreting scan results in the context of care not delivered by us.
- If you choose not to seek further advice after receiving your report, you do so at your own discretion and risk.
Clinical and Diagnostic Limitations
- Our scans are conducted by doctors with specialist expertise in gynaecology and ultrasound. Reports are based on visualised findings and provided in good faith, in accordance with clinical best practice.
- The absence of visible abnormalities on scan does not constitute a complete guarantee of health, and you may still require further testing depending on your symptoms, history, or referring clinician’s judgement.
- By proceeding with a scan, you acknowledge that diagnostic imaging has limitations and agree not to hold WWWW or its clinicians liable for any undiagnosed, late-developing, or future conditions that were not visible or present at the time of imaging.
Use of Images and Reports
- A written medical report is included with every scan appointment. Printed or digital images may be purchased as an optional extra and are for personal use or sharing with other clinicians. They do not replace the clinical report.
- All reports and imaging are securely stored in accordance with UK data protection and medical record regulations.
Consent and Acknowledgement
- You are clinically stable and not experiencing any symptoms that require urgent care.
- You understand the purpose, scope, and limitations of ultrasound imaging.
- You accept responsibility for acting on the findings, especially if you are not receiving follow-up care within WWWW.
- You understand that any medical concerns following your scan should be directed to your GP or NHS provider unless you rebook within our clinical service.
Confidentiality and Use of Images
- Any images or printed photographs provided following your scan are part of your medical record and are intended for personal clinical use only.
- We do not permit filming or recording of the scan procedure nor do we permit “screenshots”
- These images may contain identifiable information such as your name, date of birth, NHS number (if applicable), or medical findings. This ensures that they are traceable to you and verifiable as part of your care.
- By accepting these images, you agree that they are not for public sharing or reproduction, including but not limited to social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok) or other public forums.
- Sharing your images online may unintentionally disclose your personal health information, diagnosis, or other confidential details, which may compromise your privacy.
- WWWW accepts no responsibility for any breach of your confidentiality resulting from you sharing your images or report publicly. You do so at your own risk.
If you wish to use images for educational or personal purposes (e.g. documenting fertility journeys or
discussing with healthcare providers), please speak to our team so we can provide appropriately formatted versions.
